Velvet Ash - Fraxinus velutina Torr.

The velvet ash, also called Arizona Ash, Desert Ash, Leatherleaf Ash, Smooth Ash, Toumey Ash or Fresno, is sometimes considered a subspecies of F. pennsylvanica Marsh., as ssp. velutina (Torr) G. N. Miller. It occurs in SW USA (Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah) and N Mexico.
