Fraxinus uhdei (Wenzig) Lingelsh.

The Shamel Ash, Tropical Ash, Fresno, or Urapan occurs in dry areas of central America (Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico [Chiapas]), cultivated in the Andes of South America, and naturalized on the Hawaiian islands and Puerto Rico.

NOTE: Fraxinus chinensis is often reported to be cultivated in the Andes and other places in South America. However, the ash species found in Central and South America (common name Urapan) is in fact Fraxinus uhdei. See Filgueira et al. 2004.
